Emulsion Lift on Selenite Crystals Workshops
In addition to my studio practice I also host workshops where I teach the stunning photographic art of the Polaroid emulsion lift. This class offers a unique focus on transferring images onto selenite crystals, transforming instant photos into ethereal, three-dimensional art. Participants will execute multiple transfers, leaving the workshop with unique, finished crystal pieces and the complete skill set needed to continue practicing this magical medium at home. They will also understand the chemistry of the Polaroid film and the expressive potential of working with this fragile material. I give a breakdown of the specialized equipment I use to successfully separate and handle the image emulsion. As well as master the specific techniques for adhering and shaping the transparent film onto the natural texture and curves of the Selenite Crystal, transforming the flat image into a three-dimensional art object.
